Beauty ahoy! Today is this delightful ‘78 BMW R100S’ turn to be admired. A treat for all of you classic BMW bike lovers. Sometimes less is more, so by making the most of its original parts, we built a practical, yet stunning bike. Just as if we’d given it a facelift.
There are two types of custom bikes: the first type requires taking risks to get a fiercer look, while the second type tries to attain a classic vintage appeal – such is the case with this BMW R100S. It all depends on taste. As you can see in the photo gallery, #BOLT28 has a classic Bobber style but with a dual seat.
To get this clean and elegant BMW charm, we kept many of the original parts, like the fork and the handlebar controls. Well, we must confess that we reduced the fork by 80 mm. The same for the headlight, which is the original one, but we lowered the fixing points to create a better balance with the gas tank.
We also kept the original tyres and we painted them black. We also fitted Hagon shock absorbers and Shinko pneumatics. Though the seat is not the original one, we chose a model with aged brown leather, giving it the allure of vintage bikes.
